2. The Application Journey
1
Select Provider
Choose between Universities, ITPs (Polytechnics), or Private Training Establishments based on your career goals.
2
Offer of Place
Apply to your chosen institution. If successful, you’ll receive an “Offer of Place” letter outlining tuition and start dates.
3
Fee Payment (TFP)
Pay tuition through the FTS/TFP system or directly to the institution as specified in your offer letter.
4
Visa Application
Submit your application online to Immigration New Zealand (INZ). Typical processing time is 4- 8 weeks.
3. Required Documentation
Financial Evidence
Proof of funds ($20,000 NZD/year living) + Tuition.
Bank statements showing 6-month history.
Visa Specifics
Passport (minimum 3+ years validity)
Recent passport-sized photos (INZ specs)
Police clearance (for programs 2+ years)
Relationship Proof (for parental funding)
Medical Certificate
Chest X-ray and medical examination by an INZ panel doctor in Kathmandu.
Source of Income
Salary certificates & pay slips
Personal & Business Tax returns
Business registration (for self-employed)
House rent agreements & land ownership
4. Genuine Student Evidence
Study Gap Explanations
Any gaps in your education history MUST be justified with work experience certificates, training letters, or valid reasons. Long unexplained gaps are major grounds for refusal.
Career Plan (Nepal Focus)
You must articulate a clear career path linking your New Zealand study back to opportunities in Nepal. Emphasize home ties and long-term goals in your home country.
Critical Warning
Financial history is scrutinized heavily. Avoid "Sudden Deposits" into your bank accounts.
Large sums appearing without a clear,
documented source (like property sale or
retirement fund) will be flagged as borrowed
money, leading to immediate visa rejection.
