GMAT Focus Edition Overview

The GMAT Focus Edition is the more efficient, flexible, and targeted version of the Graduate Management Admission Test. It focuses on the higher-order critical thinking and data literacy skills that are most relevant to tomorrow’s business environment.

Section Breakdown

Quantitative Reasoning

Focuses on Problem Solving. No more Data Sufficiency in this section—it has
moved to Data Insights. Includes Arithmetic and Algebra, excluding Geometry.

21 Questions / 45 Mins

Verbal Reasoning

Consists of Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. Sentence Correction
has been removed to focus more on analysis rather than grammar.

23 Questions / 45 Mins

Data Insights

A new section measuring your ability to analyze and interpret data. Includes Data
Sufficiency, Multi-Source Reasoning, and Graph Interpretation.

20 Questions / 45 Mins

Scoring System

205 – 805

Total Score Range

60 – 90

Section Score Range

Scores end in “5” to distinguish Focus Edition scores from previous versions of the GMAT
exam.

Validity

Your GMAT Focus Edition score is valid for 5 years from the date of the exam. This provides ample flexibility for your MBA application journey.
